Biography

Sienna-Violet was born in January of 2019, after 8 years of fertility treatment, and the loss of her brother Fletcher at 18 weeks of pregnancy. Sienna-Violet showed almost no symptoms, aside from a little residue of blood in her nostrils every morning for 2 weeks prior to her diagnosis, which her gp put down to a dustiness allergy. On the day of diagnosis, she was super lethargic and had a fever, only the second fever she had ever had at that point. I stripped her off and noticed she was coming out in a non-blanching rash, and we rushed her straight to the emergency room. They tried to send us home, stating the likelihood of it being a viral rash. Sienna-Violet got a viral rash after her first fever, and it wasn't the same as this, plus, a viral rash, I had found out the first time around, comes out when the fever breaks, and Sienna still had a fever. This didn't sit right with me so I demanded a blood test, fearing meningitis. The results came back positive for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. She spent almost 3 years receiving harsh, draining treatments, that took its toll on our whole family. Sienna came out the other side a survivor, but now 3 years on from treatment, she is showing some of the long term side effects, and she has developed Avascular necrosis in her hip joint. Her doctors diagnosed this in September of 2025, and expect her to need the aid of a wheelchair for longer distances, for anywhere between 18 months and 3 years. This has unfortunately meant she has had to withdraw from her dance classes, and her karate classes, but we are looking at enrolling her into piano lessons, as she is interested in piano, and it is a wheelchair friendly hobby.
