BiographyKayden was born healthy weighing 7.1lbs.We noticed the earlier signs around 4-5 yrs with pain and weakness in his hands and fatigue after activities, with each year his illness progressed further. Debilitating symptom's with insomnia, headaches and unable to recover from viruses.
At 7/8yrs he started having flareup episodes where he struggled to walk from the pain and would lasts weeks. He started having a lot of time away from school to recover. Kayden's acute onset of this illness at age 9- he was hit by another virus in which he's body struggled to recover from. His illness took over his body-he couldn't walk, deconditioned muscles, insomnia, headaches, sore throat, sore muscles and joints(swollen knees from inflammation) nausea, cramps, food/chemical sensitivities, weight loss.
Kayden was hospitalised and diagnosed at 9, in a wheelchair for his mobility and used crutches for 17 months and developed mild scoliosis. Also had nerve pain, back pain, sciatica and severe leg and knee pain.
Kayden has studied via distance education for 5 years. Trialled back into mainstream school in Grade 7 but relapsed. Kayden is currently in Grade 9-studying 5 subjects and excelling in this environment- paces rests, strategizes. Manages his heavy fatigue well. Kayden started off being severe and is now moderate. He gets around the home well, has a limitation of an hour outside the home but needs to be sitting or resting as too much time on his legs means his nervous system becomes overwhelmed and can become unstable on his legs and needs assistance to walk. He struggles in the summer months with a heat intolerance, physical or mental exertion with post exertion malaise. Every activity means he needs recovery time. His non allergic Rhinitis adds to his brain fog. Becomes nauseated travelling in the car and also vertigo can set in. Kayden has holistic treatments, has a supportive medical team and is on medications and vitamins to help with the fatigue management.
